Sending gifts is easy with getGFTD! Similar to apps like Venmo and Cashapp, our app has the feature of a digital wallet which allows you to receive money within the app. With the tap of a button, you can transfer your getGFTD balance into your bank account, thanks to the 3rd-party service Stripe.

What is Stripe, and how does getGFTD use it?

Stripe is a triple-encrypted payment processing service that allows you to transfer money from your bank account into someone’s digital wallet, which can then be transferred into their account. It is a trusted service, also used by Cashapp for payment processing.

Venmo, however, does not use Stripe, and is not triple-encrypted. They do not provide any detailed information about how they are protecting users data, whereas Stripe is transparent about their security measures and uses three different types of encryption to secure your information.

Why is getGFTD asking for my SSN and my bank account information?

We understand putting this sensitive information in can be scary, but it is Stripe’s way of ensuring that no one else is trying to log into your bank account. By verifying your identity, Stripe can keep your financial information secure. While other services like Venmo ask for your entire SSN, we only ask for the last four digits. If the system is having trouble verifying your identity, a screen may pop up asking for your full SSN.

How is getGFTD different from the other organizations that use Stripe?

We made CashApp fun! Yes, with other services you can also send money, but with us the funds you send are personalized. Your transfer is a gift you can send with a note to share why you are sending it! Gift receivers can also send you a personalized thank-you note to show their gratitude.

Need help connecting your bank account?
Follow this step-by-step guide:

1. Open the getGFTD app.
2. Click on the 3-line menu icon on the top left corner of your screen.
3. Select “Connect Bank Account”.
4. Click “Add Account” and agree to Stripe’s terms.
5. Select your bank and log into your bank account.

Once you have entered your bank information, you can deposit or withdraw directly from your bank through the help of stripe! It’s that easy. Now you can get GFTing!
